Hold onto your hats, Marvel fans! It appears that a familiar face from the MCU might be joining the ranks in Avengers: Doomsday! While the film is still in post-production, directed by the Russo Brothers and slated for a theatrical release in the United States in less than a year, whispers are circulating about a potential casting surprise. And this is the part most people miss... the sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already on the horizon for 2027!
So, who's potentially stepping back into the superhero spotlight?
According to reports, Kathryn Newton has been spotted sporting an Avengers: Doomsday crew hat. Now, before you get too excited, it's important to remember that this isn't a definitive confirmation. She could have simply been visiting the set or acquired the hat elsewhere.
But here's where it gets controversial... Given the groundwork laid in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania for Cassie Lang's expanded role, coupled with the confirmed presence of Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Doomsday, the likelihood of Newton's involvement seems significantly higher. The size of her role, however, remains a mystery.
The Avengers: Doomsday cast already boasts an impressive roster, including Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, Anthony Mackie as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier, Letitia Wright as Black Panther, Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, Tenoch Huerta Mejía as Namor, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as The Thing, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Lewis Pullman as Sentry, Danny Ramirez as Falcon, Joseph Quinn as Human Torch, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, James Marsden as Cyclops, Channing Tatum as Gambit, Pedro Pascal as Mister Fantastic, and Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.
Avengers: Doomsday is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.
